Your hosts will make sure that the Rite of Passage process unfolds as profound, grounding, transformative and beautiful as it can be.

Chris and Sophie will be the main facilitators of the process and have been hosting similar events and programs over the past decades. We both come with a diversity of practices that shape our approach to hosting and holding. Besides this, we are joined by an alumni of a former Rite who slowly steps into the practice and helps us with all the logistical coordination. Learn more below.

About Chris:

After a long and successful career in public service, I joined Oasis in 2007 and have been working as a full-time facilitator ever since. I have trained in humanistic psychology, systemic constellations, coaching and the Enneagram. I have worked on Master's programmes in sustainability for the past fourteen years and have also been part of a range of oikos initiatives, including LEAP and FutureLabs.

I have been hosting Rites of Passage since 2016 both with oikos and with a UK organisation called A Band of Brothers, which works with young men who are at risk. To support this work I have trained in the Eight Shields approach and Soul Initiation, both of which are built upon indigenous approaches to human development and community building. For the past ten years my primary focus has been on supporting young people who are committed to creating a better world. I feel we are at a crucial time in human history and my life-purpose is to support people with this global change process.

I see Rites of Passage as a crucial ceremonial mechanism to mark the passage into an adult life of meaning and purpose. They can focus our life-direction, provide catalytic experiences and allow an opportunity to commit ourselves in service to a regenerative future.

You can also see my professional profiles here on the Oasis website and here on LinkedIn.

About Sophie:

In addition to hosting several trainings, workshops, and leadership programs, I have been conducting practitioner courses in participatory leadership and stewarding a community of practice in the field. My education and qualifications span a range of disciplines, from embodiment (I'm a yoga teacher and dancer) to systemic constellations, from regenerative economy governance to complexity science and community building. This vast, expansive, trans-contextual stretch allows me to create compassionate spaces that invite people to show up as they are, shift perspective, and connect to new possibilities.
